Zakarpattia region (oblast)
The Holocaust in Zakarpattia region was executed in different manner than in other part of Ukraine but result was the same: 90% of Zakarpattian Jews were exterminated. Instead of being killed in wood by death squad's bullets,  most of Jews were sent to Auschwitz and gassed over there.

Periods of occupation:     March 1938 - December 1944
Total number of victims: around 90,000

- 23,000 were deported to the vicinity of Kamenets- Podolsk, where almost all of them were murdered in late August 1941;

- Several thousand Jews died while being conscripted in Hungarian Labor Battalions that supported operations of Hungarian Army in Ukraine in 1941-1944;

-  Most Zakarpattian Jews were exterminated in Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1944 where Jews were deported from all Zakarpattian ghettos during May – June 1944.
