The ShoahAtlas is structured as an atlas of Holocaust killing sites in Ukraine that combines information from many sources. The Atlas contains maps and killing site’s profile pages with vital data and links to multi-sourced information about all killing sites in all regions of Ukraine.
In addition, the Atlas’ overview articles describe in details Holocaust events in each region of Ukraine.

Clicking on the ShoahAtlas home page will bring a user to a map of Ukraine, where each region (oblast’) is represented by a black monument marker. Clicking on a marker will display a label presenting pre-war Jewish population and the number of Jews killed in the region.
Clicking on the "Learn more” link will open up a detailed map of that region. This regional map provides the locations of all known killing sites in the selected region.
Killing site markers display basic data for selected site and “Learn more” link, which lead to a web page with killing site’s profile. The top of the profile page contains basic information about the killing event and photos of the Holocaust monument, if one exists.
ShoahAtlas’ maps are equipped with innovative “time slider” tool showing visual dynamics of mass killing during different periods of the Holocaust.
The search feature can be accessed by clicking on the “View larger version with search option” link at the bottom right of the maps. Users can utilize the search feature to enter the name of a town or village and view a list of killing sites associated with that locality.
