Kupiansk is a city in the Kharkiv region, the administrative center of the district of the same name. It is located 119 km southeast of Kharkiv. With the outbreak of the German-Soviet war, Kupiansk was occupied by Wehrmacht units on June 24, 1942. The Nazi occupiers began to implement the Holocaust policy. It is known that Jews were executed in the city. It is believed that during the occupation of Kupiansk, the Nazis killed 71 local residents, whose nationality has not been established. Therefore, this issue requires further study. Soviet-German battles in the Kharkiv region were fought with varying success. The Red Army finally took control of Kupiansk on January 3, 1943. |

Куп'янськ – місто у Харківській області, адміністративний центр однойменного району. Розташоване за 119 км на південному сході від Харкова. Із початком німецько-радянської війни Куп'янськ зайняли підрозділи вермахту 24 червня 1942 р. Нацистські окупанти почали втілювати політику Голокосту. Відомо, що в місті страчували євреїв. Вважається, що за час окупації Куп'янська нацисти вбили 71 місцевого жителя, національна приналежність не встановлена. Відтак вказане питання потребує подальшого вивчення. Радянсько-німецькі бої на Харківщині проходили із поперемінним успіхом. Червона армія остаточно взяла під свій контроль Куп'янськ 3 січня 1943 р. |
