Pochaiv is a town in Kremenets district of Ternopil region. The Jewish community has lived here since the second half of the 18th century. As of 1897, 1,377 Jews were registered in Pochaiv, comprising 70% of the town's population. Soon after the beginning of the German-Soviet war, on June 30, 1941, Pochaiv was occupied by Wehrmacht units. The Nazi government began to implement Holocaust policies. On July 8, 1941, between 106 and 120 Jewish men were arrested in the town. At first, they were kept in the police station building. The men were soon taken out of the town to the Bila Hora tract, where they were all killed. Later, the shootings of Pochayiv's Jews continued. As a result of combat operations, on March 19, 1944, the town was taken over by the Red Army. |

Почаїв – містечко у Кременецькому районі Тернопільської області. Іудейська громада проживала тут з другої половини XVIII ст. Станом на 1897 р. у Почаєві було зареєстровано 1 377 євреїв, які складали 70% всіх жителів містечка. Із початком німецько-радянської війни, 30 червня 1941 р. Почаїв зайняли підрозділи вермахту. Нацистська влада почала втілювати політику Голокосту. 8 липня 1941 р. у місті було арештовано від 106 до 120 чоловіків євреїв. Спочатку їх утримували у будівлі поліції. Незабаром чоловіків вивели за місто в урочище Біла Гора, де вони всі були вбиті. Розстріли євреїв Почаєва продовжувались і в майбутньому часі. У результаті бойових дій, 19 березня 1944 р. місто зайняла Червона армія. |
