In the late 19th century, there were 943 Jews in Yahotyn (since 1937—part of the Poltava region; since 1954—Kyiv region), which was one-fifth of the population. Before World War II, Jews made up 7.6% of the population of the local population (365 people). On September 15, 1941, the town was occupied by the Nazis. On October 5, Sonderkommando 4a arrived in Yahotyn. On October 8, 1941, 125 Jews from Yahotyn and surrounding villages were shot dead at the former Repnin estate. After the war, the remains of the deceased were reburied in the local cemetery. |

Станом на кінець XIX століття у Яготині (з 1937 – у складі Полтавської області, з 1954 - Київської) налічувалось 943 євреї, що становило п’яту частину населення. Перед Другою світовою війною євреї складали 7,6% місцевого населення (365 осіб). 15 вересня 1941 року місто окупували нацисти. 5 жовтня до Яготина прибула зондеркоманда 4а. 8 жовтня 1941 року на території колишнього маєтку роду Рєпніних було розстріляно 125 євреїв Яготина та навколишніх сіл. Після війни рештки убитих були перепоховані на місцевому кладовищі. |
