Manevychi is a small town in the north of Volyn, 77 km away from Lutsk. The Jewish community emerged in the town in early 20th century. As of 1921, there were 462 Jews living here; they comprised 57% of the total population. The town was occupied soon after the beginning of the German-Soviet war, in late June 1941. Gradually, the Nazis begin to implement the Holocaust politics. The shootings took place at the Kinski Mohyly landmark near the village of Cherevakha. The Jews fled the town and tried to hide in the surrounding villages and forests, but were also persecuted there. For example, in 1942, near the village of Lisove, 14 km from Manevychi, 6 Jews were killed: an elderly man and a woman, two younger women and a woman with two small children. In February 1944, the territory was taken over by the Red Army. |

Маневичі – невелике містечко на півночі Волині за 77 км від Луцька. У населеному пункті єврейська громада з’явилась на початку ХХ ст. У 1921 р. тут проживало 462 євреї, які становили 57% від загальної кількості населення. Із початком німецько-радянської війни містечко було окуповане наприкінці червня 1941 р. Нацисти розпочинають поступове втілення політики Голокосту. Розстріли відбувались в урочищі Кінські Могили поблизу с. Череваха. Євреї намагались врятуватись у навколишніх селах та лісах, але й там їм загрожувала небезпека. Так, у вересні 1942 р. поблизу с. Лісове, що за 14 км від Маневич було вбито 6 євреїв: старшого за віком чоловіка і жінку, двох молодших жінок і жінку з двома малолітніми дітьми. У лютому 1944 р. цю територію зайняла Червона армія. |
