Shatsk is one of the towns in Volyn where Jews lived. As of 1921, there were 238 Jews living here; they comprised over 13% of the total population. Shatsk was occupied on June 25, 1941. A ghetto emerged in the village. Implementing the Holocaust politics, the Nazi authorities initiated the physical destruction of the local community. Besides Shatsk, mass executions also took place in the village of Pulmo, 12 km away from the settlement. The most massive shooting took place in July 1942 in a forest near the village. About 215 Jews, residents of the village of Pulmo and the surroundings, were killed. In 2005, a monument was erected at the site of the tragedy. As a result of combat operations, the territory was taken over by the Red Army in July 1944.

Шацьк одне із містечок на Волині, де проживали євреї. Станом на 1921 р. тут мешкало 238 осіб, які становили понад 13% від загальної чисельності населення. Шацьк був окупований 25 червня 1941 р. У селищі виникло гетто. Втілюючи політику Голокосту, нацистська влада перейшла до фізичного знищення місцевої громади. Окрім Шацька, масові страти відбувалися і в с. Пульмо, що за 12 км від селища. Найбільший розстріл пройшов у липні 1942 р. в лісі поблизу села. У результаті екзекуції загинуло близько 215 євреїв, жителів с. Пульмо і округи. У 2005 р. на місці трагедії було встановлено пам’ятник. У результаті ведення бойових дій, у липні 1944 р. вказану територію зайняла Червона армія.
