Yemilchyne (Yid. Milchyn) is now a town in Zhytomyr region, the administrative center of Yemilchyne district. The settlement is known since the late 16th century.
According to the 1897 census, the town was home to 1,049 Jews, or 42% of its total population. There was a school and a synagogue here. As of 1939, the percentage of Jews in Yemilchyne had dropped to 21% (1,115).
The town was occupied in early July 1941. The Jews of Yemilchyne and the surrounding villages were brought to the ghetto at the premises of the former military depots. The first shootings of local school students took place there. The exact location, date, and number of victims are unknown.
The Jews of Yemilchyne were also exterminated in other places, namely: near Barashi, at the birch grove, on the right bank of the river Urbort (4 locations in total).

Ємільчине (ід. Мільчин) – нині селище міського типу в Житомирській області, адміністративний центр Ємільчинського району. Населений пункт відомий з кінця XVI століття.
Згідно з переписом населення 1897 року, в містечку проживало 1049 євреїв, або ж 42 % населення. Діяла школа та синагога. Станом на 1939 рік у відсотковому відношенні кількість євреїв у Ємільчині зменшилась удвоє – до 1115 осіб (21%).
Місто було окуповане на початку липня 1941 року. Євреїв Ємільчина та навколишніх сіл зігнали в гетто на території колишніх військових складів. Там же відбулися перші розстріли учнів місцевої школи. Точне місце, дата та кількість жертв невідомі.
Євреїв Ємільчина знищували в інших місцях: поблизу Барашів, Березовому гаю, на правому березі р. Уборть (всього 4 місця).
