Chervone is a settlement Andrushivka district, Zhytomyr region. According to the 1897 census, 711 (26.9%) Jews lived in the city at that time. As of 1926, the percentage of the Jewish population did not change significantly and amounted to 1,100 people (23.9% of the population). The settlement was occupied in mid-July 1941. As a pretext for the shooting, the Nazis claimed that the Jews assisted in the guerrilla attack on the sugar factory. On August 30, 1941, 63 people were shot dead in a forest beside the sugar factory (according to other sources, 134 people). The shooting was performed by the 454th Wehrmacht Security Division. Another place of execution is in the woods outside the town. |

Червоне – селище міського типу Андрушівського району Житомирської області. Згідно з переписом 1897 року в (на той час) місті проживало 711 (26,9%) євреїв. Станом на 1926 рік кількість єврейського населення у відсотковому відношенні практично суттєво не змінилась і становила 1100 осіб (23,9% населення). Місто було окуповане в середині липня 1941 року. Як привід для розстрілу нацисти використали буцімто допомогу євреїв при нападі партизан на цукровий завод. 30 серпня 1941 року в лісі за цукровим заводом було розстріляно 63 особи (за іншими даними, 134). Розстріл здійснювала 1-а рота 82-го резервного поліцейського батальйону. Інше місце розстрілу знаходиться в лісі за містом. |
