​"Stara Ushytsia is a town in Khmelnytskyi region. Jews settled here in the 18th century. According to the 1897 census, they accounted for 14% of the population or 1,583 people. During the first decades of the 20th century, their number decreased significantly—to 753 people. However, in percentage terms, the Jewish population increased to 17.4%. 
The Nazis occupied Stara Ushytsia on July 7, 1941. Local Jews were registered and forced to wear discriminatory insignia. It was forbidden for them to leave the town.
On July 23, 1942, the occupiers gathered the Jews of Nova Ushytsia and the neighboring village of Studenytsia and announced that they would be relocated to Kamianets-Podilskyi. However, only able-bodied Jews were sent there. The disabled were taken to a forest near the village of Hrushky and shot. The victims were taken in groups of 5 to the firing pit, ordered to strip naked and lie face down in the pit. After that, they were shot in the back of the head. About 700 people were shot that day.

Cтара Ушиця – селище міського типу Хмельницької області. Євреї поселяються тут із XVIII століття. Згідно з переписом 1897 року вони складали 14% населення або 1583 особи. За перші десятиліття XX століття їх кількість суттєво зменшилась – до 753 осіб, проте у відсотковому співвідношенні єврейське населення зросло до 17,4%.
Нацисти окупували Стару Ушицю 7 липня 1941 року. Місцеві євреї були поставлені на облік, вони були змушені носити дискримінаційні знаки. Покидати містечко їх було заборонено.
23 липня 1942 року окупанти зібрали євреїв Нової Ушиці та сусіднього села Студениця та оголосили, що їх переселять до Кам’янця-Подільського. Однак туди відправили лише працездатних євреїв. Непрацездатних вивезли до лісу поблизу села Грушки та розстріляли. Жертв підводили по 5 осіб до розстрільної ями, наказували роздягнутись догола та лягти в яму обличчям вниз. Після цього їх убивали пострілами в потилицю. Того дня було розстріляно близько 700 осіб.
