​"Ostroh is a town in Rivne district, Rivne region. In the late 19th century, 9,208 Jews (62% of the local population) lived here; in 1931—8,171 (62% of the local population).
On July 3, 1941, the town was occupied by the Nazis. During July-August, anti-Jewish campaigns ranged from the forced registration and establishment of the Judenrat to the first massacres.
On September 2, 1941, the 45th Reserve Battalion of the police selected 2,500 Jewish men from Ostroh allegedly for work outside the town. They were taken to a sawmill, where a thorough selection procedure was carried out, after which they were taken to a murder site near the town of Netishyn (Khmelnytskyi region). On the outskirts of the town (now Solovyivska Street), the Nazis shot about 2,500 Jews from the Ostroh ghetto.

Острог – місто Рівненського району Рівненської області. Наприкінці XIX століття тут проживало 9208 євреїв  (62% населення), а в 1931 році – 8171 (62% населення).
3 липня 1941 року місто остаточно окуповане нацистами. Протягом липня-серпня відбувались антиєврейські акції – від примусової реєстрації та створення юденрату до перших масових убивств.
2 вересня 1941 45 резервний батальйон поліції відібрав 2500 єврейських чоловіків Острога нібито для робіт за межами міста. Їх відвели до лісопильні, де здійснили процедуру ретельного відбору, після чого доправили до місця вбивства поблизу м. Нетішин (Хмельницька область). На околиці міста (нині вулиця Солов'ївська) нацисти розстріляли близько 2500 євреїв з гетто Острога.
