"Berezdiv is a village in Slavutych district of Khmelnytskyi region. The first Jews settled here in the early 17th century. According to the 1897 census, there were 1,319 Jews in the town, or 49% of the local population. During the Soviet era, a Jewish collective farm was established here, and the town itself became the center of the Jewish district. Before the war, the Jewish population of Berezdiv was 778 people—25% of the local population. The Nazis occupied Berezdiv on July 9, 1941. A month later, the first execution of local Jews took place. On August 10, the occupiers took 152 people to a firing range near the village of Dyakiv, west of the town, under the pretext of repair work. The victims were shot with rifles and machine guns; grenades were thrown at them. The action was conducted by 1 SS motorized infantry brigade. In March 1942, Jews from Krasnostav were brought to the ghetto of Berezdiv. By June 1942, the surviving Jews of the Berezdiv ghetto were transferred to the Slavuta ghetto. It was liquidated in late June 1942." |

Берездів – село в Славутському районі Хмельницької області. Перші євреї поселились тут на початку XVII століття. Згідно з переписом 1897 року в містечку їх налічувалось 49% або 1319 осіб. В роки радянської влади тут було засновано єврейський колгосп, а саме містечко стало центром єврейського району. Перед війною єврейське населення Берездова складало 778 осіб – 25% населення. Нацисти окупували Берездів 9 (за іншими даними, 10) липня 1941 року. Через місяць відбувся перший розстріл місцевих євреїв. 10 серпня окупанти вивезли 152 особи до розстрільного місця біля села Дяків, що на захід від містечка, під приводом ремонтних робіт. Жертв розстрілювали з автоматів та кулеметів та закидували гранатами. Акцію проводила 1 мотопіхотна бригада СС. В березні 1942 року гетто в Берездові поповнилося євреями з Красностава. До червня 1942 року євреїв берездівського гетто, що залишились у живих, перевели до гетто в Славуті. Воно було ліквідоване наприкінці червня 1942 року. |
