​"Polonne is a town and a district center of the Khmelnytskyi region. Jews began to settle here in the early 17th century; by the late 19th century, the town's Jewish community numbered 7,910 people, or 48.6% of the local population. In the aftermath of social cataclysms of the first decades of the 20th century, the number of Jews in Polonne decreased, and in 1939 amounted to 4,171 people (30% of the local population).
On July 6, 1941, the town was occupied by the Nazis. In July-August 1941, more than 100 Jewish prisoners were killed (the murder sites are unknown). On September 2, 1941, 1,275 Jews were shot dead in a forest on the outskirts of the town. Most likely, the shooting was carried out by the 45th Reserve Battalion of the police. 
After this campaign, the Jews of Polonne and the surrounding villages were relocated to the ghetto near the granite quarry on Berezovska Street. On June 25, 1942, the ghetto was liquidated.

Полонне – місто, районний центр Хмельницької області. Євреї почали селитись тут на початку XVII століття, а на кінець XIX століття єврейська громада міста налічувала 7,910 осіб, що складало 48.6% населення. Внаслідок соціальних катаклізмів перших десятиліть XX століття кількість євреїв Полонного скоротилась і на 1939 рік становила 4,171 особу (30% населення).
6 липня 1941 року місто було окуповане нацистами. Протягом липня – серпня 1941 року понад 100 євреїв Полонного було вбито (місця вбивств невідомі). 2 вересня 1941 року 1275 євреїв було розстріляно в лісі на околиці міста. Швидше за все, розстріл здійснював 45 резервний батальйон поліції.
Після цієї акції євреїв Полонного та навколишніх сіл було переселено до гетто поблизу гранітного кар’єру на вул. Березовській. 25 червня 1942 року гетто буде ліквідоване.
