"Krasyliv is a town in Khmelnytskyi region. Jews began to settle in this area in the 18th century. As of the late 19th century, Jews made up 37% of Krasyliv's population, or 2,563 people. Over the next decades, the town's Jewish population dropped to 1,250 at the beginning of the war (17%). The Nazis occupied Smotrych on July 8, 1941. A ghetto surrounded by barbed wire was established in the town. Jews were required to wear yellow badges and perform heavy physical labor. On September 21, 1941, the Nazis deported the population of the Krasyliv ghetto to a forest near the village of Manivtsi, 15 km away from the town. They were mostly children, women and the elderly. They were shot in three pits. That same month, the Nazis shot 500 Jewish specialists in the vicinity of Manivtsi—in a field near the village of Rosolyntsi. The total number of victims is up to 3,000. On March 10, 1944, the Red Army liberated Krasyliv from the Nazis. " |

Красилів – місто Хмельницької області. Євреї починають селитися в цій місцевості з XVIII століття. Станом на кінець XIX століття євреїв складали 37% населення Красилова – 2563 особи. За наступні десятиліття єврейське населення міста скорочується і на початок війни становить 1250 жителів (17%). Нацисти окупували місто 8 липня 1941 року. В місті було створено гетто, обнесене колючим дротом. Євреї були зобов’язані носити жовті розпізнавальні знаки та виконувати важку фізичну роботу. 21 вересня 1941 року нацисти вивезли населення красилівського гетто до лісу біля села Манівці за 15 км від міста. Це були переважно діти, жінки та старі. Їх розстріляли в трьох ямах. Того ж місяця нацисти розстріляють 500 єврейських спеціалістів неподалік від Манівців – у полі біля с. Росолинці. Загальна кількість жертв сягає 3000 осіб. 10 березня 1944 Червона Армія звільнила Красилів від нацистів. |
