​"Shepetivka is a town of regional subordination in Khmelnytskyi region. Jews began to settle here in the 18th century. Gradually, the town became one of the centers of Hasidism. According to the 1897 census, the town was home to 3880 Jews, who made up 48% of the local population. At the beginning of World War II, the Jewish community of Shepetivka more than halved in percentage: there were 4544 Jews (20%).
On July 5, 1941, the town was occupied by the Nazis. From the very beginning of the occupation, it became one of the centers of arrival of Jewish refugees from Poland and Western Ukraine (including from Subcarpathian Rus). In addition to Shepetivka, there were Jews from the neighboring town of Sudylkiv.
The Jews of Shepetivka ghetto were executed at a pine forest 2 km away from the town near the village of Tsvitokha. The shootings took place here on July 28, 1941 (over 800 victims), June 24, 1942 (about 2,500 victims), and September 6-10, 1942 (about 500 victims). Among the killers are 45 reserve police battalions, SD units, and the Ukrainian auxiliary police.

Шепетівка – місто обласного значення Хмельницької області. Євреї починають селитися тут із XVIII століття, поступово місто стає одним із центрів хасидизму. Згідно з переписом 1897 року в місті проживало 3880 євреїв, що складало 48%. На початок Другої світової війни єврейська громада Шепетівки скоротилась більше ніж удвічі у відсотковому відношенні: 4544 жителів (20%).
5 липня 1941 року місто окуповане нацистами. З самого початку окупації воно стає одним із центрів прибуття єврейських біженців із Польщі та Західної України (в тому числі з Підкарпатської Русі). Окрім Шепетівки, тут перебували євреї з сусіднього містечка Судилків.
Місцем знищення євреїв шепетівського гетто став сосновий ліс за 2 км від міста біля села Цвітоха. Розстріли відбувались тут 28 липня 1941 року (понад 800 жертв), 24 червня 1942 року (близько 2500 жертв) та 6-10 вересня 1942 року (близько 500 жертв). Серед убивць 45 резервний батальйон поліції, загони СД, українська допоміжна поліція.
