​"Balyn is a village in Dunaivtsi district of Khmelnytskyi region. Jews began to settle here in the 18th century. In the late 19th century, the Jewish community of Balyn numbered 357 people (22% of the population), and in 1926—293 (7.5%). 
On July 10, Balyn was occupied by the Nazis. They appointed a Jewish council, taxed the Jews, and forced them to perform hard manual labor. In addition, Jews wore identification badges on their clothing.
On September 5, 1942, the Nazis selected the Jews unsuitable to work (women, children, the elderly) and took them to the Hlynyske natural landmark near Balyn. Here, 120 to 150 Jews were shot in pits dug by locals on the orders of the occupation administration. The rest were sent to a labor camp in Kamianets-Podilskyi.

Балин – село Дунаєвецького району Хмельницької області. Євреї починають тут селитися з XVIII століття. На кінець XIX століття єврейська громада Балина складала 357 осіб (22% населення), а в 1926 - 293 (7,5%).
10 липня Балин окупували нацисти. Вони обклали євреїв податками, призначили єврейську раду та примусили виконувати важку фізичну працю. Окрім цього, євреї носили розпізнавальні знаки на одязі.
5 вересня 1942 року нацисти відібрали нездатних до праці євреїв (жінки, діти, старі) та вивезли їх до Глиниського урочища поблизу Балина. Тут в ямах, викопаних місцевими жителями за наказом окупаційної адміністрації, було розстріляно від 120 до 150 євреїв. Решту було відправлено до табору праці в Кам’янці-Подільському."
