​"Nova Ushytsia is an urban-type settlement in the Khmelnytskyi region. Jews inhabited the town since the 17th century. In the late 19th century, they made up more than half of the local population: 2011 persons (56%). Before World War II, the Jewish population of Nova Ushytsia did not change significantly: it comprised 1545 inhabitants, or 55%. 
The town was occupied by the Nazis on July 14, 1941. Local Jews were forced to wear identification badges, and taxed; a Jewish council was established. After the arrival of Jews from Northern Bukovyna and Bessarabia in Nova Ushytsia, a ghetto surrounded by barbed wire was established in the town. In the spring of 1942, Jews from the surrounding villages were driven to the ghetto. 
On August 20, 1942, the Nazis carried out the first shooting of Jews. 707 residents of the Nova Ushytsia ghetto (mostly unsuitable to work) were killed west of the town in the Trykhiv Forest. The campaign took place in the same place on October 15, 1942. This time, specialists were not spared. According to Soviet reports, 2,620 people fell victim to the two rallies. According to other sources, there were about 300 victims of the October shooting, so the total number of victims is over 1,000.

Нова Ушиця – селище міського типу Хмельницької області. Євреї заселяють містечко в XVII столітті, а на кінець XIX століття вони складають більш ніж половина місцевого населення: 2011 осіб (56%). До початку Другої світової війни кількість єврейського населення Нової Ушиці суттєво не змінилось: 1545 жителів або 55%.
Місто окуповане нацистами 14 липня 1941 року. Місцевих євреїв примусили носити розпізнавальні знаки, обклали податками та створили єврейську раду. Після прибуття до Нової Ушиці євреїв з Північної Буковини та Бесарабії в місті створили гетто, оточене колючим дротом. Навесні 1942 року до гетто зігнали євреїв з навколишніх сіл.
20 серпня 1942 року нацисти здійснили першу акцію з розстрілу євреїв. На захід від містечка у Триховому лісі було вбито 707 жителів новоушицького гетто (в основному непрацездатних). На цьому ж місці акція повторилась 15 жовтня 1942 року. Цього разу розстрілювали й спеціалістів. За даними радянських звітів, жертвами двох акцій стали 2620 осіб. За іншими даними, жертвами жовтневого розстрілу стало близько 300 чоловік, отже, загальна кількість жертв складає понад 1000 осіб.
